Saturday Nov 1st saw us travel to Riverstown to play Sars in the minor county semi final. Conditions were terrible and no way conducive to a good game of camogie. Ciara Daly gave us a dream start with a goal. Sars replied with a point.Great credit was due to Leah McEvoy to return to the field of play after a nasty bang. Elaine Terry, Niamh and Zoe McEvoy were doing trogan work in the back line. The three Ciara's in the forward line were doing great work keeping the ball in the square and Hannah drove it to the back of the net. Leah pointed a free and Sars did likewise. Yet again Hannah used her football skills to get a point over the bar. Sars finished the half stronger with a goal and two points to leave us level 2-2 to 1-5 at half time.
Young Ciara Barry having a great game secured us a great restart with a goal. Kate Mary Cullinane brought of some great saves. Chloe Sigerson showed what a great future she has with some great ball delivery to the forwards. Leah pointed two 45's eighteen minutes in. Sars had their first point of the second half. On checking with the referee he said we were only 4 points up and eight minutes to play (we thought we were 5 up). Hannah pointed. Ellen Benaim was having a great game. Sars got a point after a penalty was blocked, they followed on with a goal and a point. The tension was mighty. Hannah pointed what we thought was the winner. Our final score being 3-6 to 2-8. But to our dismay the referee called the game a draw!! Roll on the replay!!!
