Killeagh U18 Vs Douglas U18

posted 17 Mar 2014, 15:47 by Pro Killeagh Camogie

Our minors began their league campaign last week against Cloughdubh. It was our first get together so it was great to have a panel of seventeen ready to take to the pitch. Cloughdubh were much the better team on the day and ran out easy winners.

Summer sunshine greeted us on the bank holiday weekend as we lined out at Douglas to play the home team. Douglas opened the scoring with a point. It took us a while to settle. Kate Mary Cullinane cleared some great balls from the goal mouth. Chloe Sigerson got our first point. Jill Butler and Ciara Motherway got a goal each.  Douglas pointed 2 frees to leave the halftime score 2-1 to 3pts in our favour.

Douglas had the first point of the second half. Chloe Sigerson pointed a 45. Ciara Daly played a starring roll at full back. Lucy O‘Gorman gave a great account of herself. Ciara Barry had our third goal and proved the step up to minor didn’t phase her one bit. Sinead Landers had our fourth goal. Douglas pointed again and they were replied to by 2pts from Chloe Sigerson. A well deserved win 4-4 to 5pts.

Well done to Ciara Barry, Donna Coleman, Rachel Fogarty and Niamh O Brien in their first game at U18 level. A special welcome to Lucy O’Gorman and Kate Mary Culinane who have just joined the club.
