Our senior team played their second league game in Ballincollig on Wednesday night. Lots of girls are stepping up to the senior rank for the first time so a lot of these games are a learning curve for the team and also the management.

Ballincollig opened the scoring after five minutes with a point from a free, Chloe Sigerson replied to this with a pointed free .Ballincollig had another point and Rachael Sheehan in her first game at senior level pointed a great ball. A goal put Ballincollig ahead. A long range ball from Chloe brought us a little closer to our opponents They hit a purple patch then and scored six points on the trot. We rallied though and Chloe had  a point and a Ciara Daly long ball got over the line enough to raise the green flag and leave the mid-way score 1.8 to 1.4 in Ballincollig favour.

It was battle for battle throughout the second half with both sets of backs giving it their all and only allowing the forwards two points per team.

The final score Ballincollig 1.10 Killeagh 1.6

Our third game of the League was a home game against Cloughdubh. We played this game without the services of Laura Treacy and Hannah Looney as they were observing the 5 day rule ahead of Corks League Semi-final game against Limerick.. Our get well wishes to Noelle who is nursing an injury at the moment. The Miami travellers were back and added great strength to the younger members of our team. Aoife Walsh had the first point of the game, and Katie Sheehan had similar. Despite having  a lot of ball Cloughdubh were failing to score. Chloe Sigerson stretched our lead with a goal and then despite being knocked over she quickly got up and got another point. Cloughdubh got their act together and had a goal and two points before the half time whistle to leave Killeagh a point ahead

Cloughdubh opened the second half with a point but Leah Mcevoy quickly replied to this. We seemed to lose our shape a bit and cloughdubh got in to the game a bit more with a second goal and  a point. Our young charges with the support of the experienced girls kept on battling and a sweet goal came from Chloe Sigerson to give us a very sweet one point victory... Inniscarra are our next league opponents.

Killeagh face Carbery in senior championship this year
