On a misty Saturday June 16th Killeagh U10 girls travelled to neighbours St Catherine's for a 10.30 match. Thankfully the rain stayed away but that wouldn't even have dampened the enthusiasm of our players. From the outset none of the eleven players who travelled were anyway sleepy from the early start as a great flowing game ensued for both sets of players. The players in every part of the field showed great effort and gave their supporters something to cheer with their jab lifts, ground hurling and some excellent strikes of the ball. Our girls showed that all the hard work and training was coming to the fore. A game of goals and points followed with a draw a great result. No doubt that these girls will get to meet each other on the field of play as the years go on.
All girls are encouraged to practice at home; the school holidays will soon be on us so there will be no excuse but to go out with hurley and sliothar and practice with friends or siblings on these long hazy days of summer ( keep believing our Summer will come) and burn up some energy and prevent "I'm bored" syndrome. We have many more matches coming up in the U10 league so the more girls at training the better.
