Cork Senior Camogie team travelled to Thurles last Saturday in the hope of booking themselves a place in the All Ireland Final only to come home with a replay date ahead of them. This Saturday Walsh Park was their venue and they made no mistake this time. Wexford were their opponents and having been beaten by them earlier in the year they knew they had a challenge on their plate. From the outset the girls knuckled down and were rewarded with an early goal. Though playing against the wind for the first half they kept in touch with Wexford at all times and were lucky enough to be 1-5 to 7 pts ahead at the break.
The second half saw the girls give of their very best and just allowing Wexford score 1 point for the full half. The final score being 1-15 to 8 points. Aplace in the final on September 14th the prize for the winners . Cork will now take on Kilkenny that day and will look forward to bringing the O Duffy Cup back to Leeside. The Killeagh club are fortunate to have three girls on this panel Laura Treacy, Angela Walsh and Hannah Looney. We wish them the very best of luck as we do their mentor Brian Barry [Blondie].
